Children’s Ministry Creative Lab – Part 1

Leading Your Congregation in Missional Ministry Course Instructor: Pastor Teresa Tong TIM Centre is bringing back Level 1 of the Children’s Ministry Creative Lab series based on continual interest in the children’s ministry focus. Children are our future spiritual leaders, so we need to nurture their faith formation rooted in biblical understanding and child development. In today’s fast-moving world, we put much effort into staying current with the world in which we are called to minister. However, the principles of ministry today are the same as when Jesus first referred to them. Children’s Ministry leaders and teachers need to keep up with the pace of the society while still remain true to Bible’s core teaching. This course will affirm us with the mission of Children’s Ministry and children’s potential of experiencing God. Through lecturing, hands-on activities and small group discussions, students will be introduced to practical approaches and creative ways for designing programs that respond to the spiritual needs of children and nurture their growth. Strategic Management

Course Facilitators: Karl Mueller, Suzi Said, Albert Anderman, Lorinda Lee As part of TIM Centre’s partnership with Development Associates International and Tyndale Leadership Centre, Strategic Management is Course 2 of 4 in the Certificate of Ministry and Organizational Leadership. This course is based on the belief that the foundation of Strategic Thinking and Management is the relationship between God and the planner.  God is the initiator in the strategic management process.  As a result, Strategic Management is a journey in which God’s people follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, looking to Him for guidance, while making the best use of the human skills and resources He has provided us with. The purpose of this Strategic Management course is to equip participants with an understanding of the critical importance of good strategy to the long term health of churches and organizations and how scriptural authority, biblical wisdom, prayerful discernment of God’s will, modern best practices and the use of our own gifts can be used to this end. By the end of the course you will have a framework and the tools you need to  “see” the world in which we live, discern God’s preferred future and move towards accomplishing His vision for your church

Equipping Churches for Immigrant & Refugee Ministry

TIM Centre has completed extensive research on how the Canadian Church is welcoming new immigrants. Take some time to consider our research “Beyond the Welcome”. TIM Centre was a leader in a government-sponsored research project looking at how the Canadian Church is assisting in the settlement of new immigrants in our “Role of Churches” project. Building on this research base TIM Centre provides consultation and tailor-made training modules to equip leaders for ministry to new immigrants and refugees. Below are some resources that will assist your church in engaging more effectively with new immigrants and refugees. Short-Term Mission Training

The TIM Centre equips Christians not only for Short-Term Missions (STM), but also for a lifetime of intercultural ministry from their doorstep to the ends of the earth. STM trips create a direct encounter with different cultures. We often limit STM to an overseas experience to sharing the Gospel. However, STM is not just about going two weeks overseas. It is also an opportunity for global discipleship. Intentional intercultural training for your STM experience will help you in developing the cultural self-awareness, knowledge and skills which are essential to navigating our multicultural context at home and abroad. TIM Centre facilitators will tailor-make a training seminar for your STM team. Below are some of the core outcomes for STM training. Learning Outcomes Code of Best Practice A biblical basis for STM Building a support team Cross-cultural perspectives Developing an intercultural team Building healthy global partnerships Debriefing your STM experience How to maximize your STM experience for ministry at home Communicating the Gospel in different cultural contexts
